The Rochester Diversion Program is an alternative to the court system. It is designed to give young offenders the opportunity to act in a responsible manner and make amends for their criminal actions through an individualized contract. Referred youth are first time offenders who have admitted their guilt and are willing to complete the Diversion Program. Parents must be in agreement. The majority of referrals come from the police dept. and school system.

Strafford County Department of Corrections offers government and non-profit agencies in Strafford County supervised workers to complete odd jobs. Persons sentenced to community service by court order report to a correctional officer at a place of business for minor construction, painting, landscaping, event setup, moving, etc. This service is provided by the Department of Corrections at no cost. Depending on the days of the week requested, location, size of the job and skills needed, inmates may be utilized upon request. To request service, agency representatives should call the Strafford County Department of Corrections at 742-3310, ask for the Community Work Program supervisor (extension 1019) and leave a message with return telephone number.

Strafford Regional Planning Commission's (SRPC) fundamental mission is to plan and act to achieve sustainable development and improve the quality of life. In Strafford County, provides emotional and practical support to crime, crash, and trauma victims and their families. Highly trained Trauma Intervention Volunteers are on call 24-hours, 7 days a week. They respond to calls from police, fire, and emergency medical personnel. Victims, Inc. provides Supreme, Superior, and District Court advocacy to crash victims. Victims, Inc. sponsors GAP, a Grieving Assistance Program for adults, and GAPS, a Grieving Assistance Program for Students, and camp Purple Parachute, a weekend camp for grieving students.
