Child Care Connections maintains a data base of current child
care providers and preschools in Strafford County and provides
the following: free referrals and information for families
seeking quality child care and preschools; start-up information
for family child care; technical assistance to child care
providers; and workshops for parents, child care providers, and
other early childhood professionals.

NEFWC is a federally funded non-profit agency representing the
needs of the migrant and seasonal farm workers in New Hampshire.
The National Job Training Program, WIA§167, funds this federal
program. NEFWC provides training, vocational counseling, job
placement assistance, ESL instruction, GED preparation, and
supportive services to farm workers who seek an alternative to
agriculture, or who wish to upgrade job skills in agriculture.
Any individual who has worked on a farm within the last two years
may qualify for this federally funded job-training program. We
encourage farm workers to contact the NEFWC for further
information. Farm workers sustain us by their labor.

This one-stop career center provides the user with PC's for self
directed work search activities including resume formats, cover
letters, job search, resume writing workshops, and career
exploration. Services include job and information resources,
economic and labor market information, employment recruitment,
unemployment compensation, temporary assistance for needy
families (TANF), and counseling services. Partner agencies that
provide information and services include NH Community Technical
College System, Community Action Program, Vocational
Rehabilitation, and Department of Health and Human Services.

Plus Time NH's mission is to provide the guidance, leadership,
and support essential to create, expand and sustain afterschool
programs in New Hampshire. National Service Opportunities with
PlusTime: We have both AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA positions

Need volunteers or entry-level employees? WORKING FUTURES
is an intensive 8-week classroom-based job readiness activity for
the New Hampshire Employment Program. The NH Division of Family
Assistance has contracted with Second Start, an adult education
center in Concord, NH, to administer the program. Working
Futures has ten offices located throughout the state.
Working Futures works solely with individuals receiving public
assistance from TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families).
Working Future's primary goal is to guide participants off of
welfare and into employment or meaningful volunteer positions.
They have people with skills ready to go!
